
Upton School
Ashstone MEP was appointed to deliver the electrical design for the refurbishment of the Main School Building for Primech Building Services. The design focused on the modernisation of electrical infrastructure across multiple building blocks, improving safety, reliability, and energy efficiency while integrating recently upgraded compliant systems.
Main School Building
The electrical design included the replacement of low-voltage (LV) distribution systems throughout the main school building, along with new general and emergency lighting layouts. Small power systems were redesigned, with the exception of the science laboratory installations, which were retained following refurbishment works completed in 2019. The existing fire alarm system was retained within the design, having been fully upgraded in 2019, with all panels and accessories maintained to current standards.
Block C
Within Block C, Ashstone MEP developed the electrical design in coordination with new suspended ceiling layouts. The scope included the design of replacement general and emergency lighting systems to improve lighting performance and regulatory compliance.
Block D
Electrical design works to Block D included the replacement design of LV distribution systems, general and emergency lighting, and small power installations. As with the main school building, the fire alarm system was retained within the design due to its recent upgrade in 2019. Electrical services were also coordinated with the installation of new suspended ceilings throughout Block D.
This project demonstrates Ashstone MEP’s capability in delivering coordinated electrical design solutions for complex educational refurbishments, supporting efficient contractor delivery while maintaining continuity with existing compliant systems.
