Forster Park

Ashstone MEP were appointed to deliver MEP services and energy design for Forster Park, a major residential development by Bellway Homes in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, comprising a mix of houses and apartments alongside a local centre.

The scope of services included the coordinated design of mechanical, electrical, and public health systems across the development. Ashstone MEP undertook SAP calculations and overheating analysis to support compliance with Building Regulations and inform the energy strategy. The design incorporated a combination of air source heat pumps (ASHPs) and gas boiler systems, with photovoltaic (PV) panels integrated to achieve energy performance targets.

Ashstone MEP also delivered shell and core MEP services design for the commercial units within the local centre, providing flexible infrastructure to support future tenant fit-out.

Responsibilities included the review and approval of specialist subcontractor design and drawing packages, along with the coordination of on-site air pressure testing and acoustic testing to support Part L compliance.

Designs were progressed in close collaboration with the wider project team to support buildability, regulatory compliance, and efficient delivery across Phase 1D and Phases 2A, 2B, 2C and 2D of the development.

This project reflects Ashstone MEP’s experience in delivering coordinated MEP and energy design solutions for large-scale, mixed-use residential developments.
