Bexhill

Ashstone MEP were appointed to deliver MEP services and energy design for Phase 2 of the Bexhill residential development, comprising 354 dwellings, built by Vistry and marketed under the Linden Homes and Bovis Homes brands. The scheme forms part of the wider Bexhill regeneration programme, delivering more than 800 new homes.

The scope of services included the coordinated design of mechanical, electrical, and public health systems, alongside SAP calculations, water efficiency calculations, and overheating analysis undertaken using both simplified and dynamic assessment methods in accordance with the Building Regulations. The development is served by a centralised energy centre managed by Metropolitan, with Heat Interface Units (HIUs) provided to each dwelling, and all heating systems designed in accordance with Metropolitan’s heat network requirements.

Ashstone MEP developed the dwelling heating strategy with underfloor heating to ground floor areas and radiators to first floor spaces, ensuring efficient heat distribution and occupant comfort. Designs were progressed in close coordination with the wider design team to support buildability, regulatory compliance, and efficient delivery.
